5. Don't lock the knees at the top of the movement

Lie flat on your back on a mat with your knees bent pointing up to the ceiling and your arms at your sides. Simply raise your pelvis up toward the ceiling to a point where your body will be at a about a 45 degree angle relative to the floor. 1. Looking straight ahead, stand and balance on one leg, and kick the other leg out slightly behind you.
2. Maintain a very slight bend in the knee throughout this exercise.

4. While bending over and pushing the hips back, kick your other leg out behind you and reach down with your hands towards the toe of your foot that's planted on the ground and try to touch it. You should feel a stretch in the hamstrings as you get to the deepest part where your back is parallel to the floor.
5. Then, focus on squeezing the butt muscle hard while you reverse the movement and bring yourself back to upright (all the while maintaining that flat back)

No Sit-ups for Sculpting Abs

So many individuals still think that in order to sculpt your abs you need to do hundreds of abs. This is NOT TRUE! I said it before and I will say it as many times as I have to. Here is an interesting routine that I recommend (among many others possible) that can sculpt your abs without any sit-ups if done properly. First of all add balance moves to your routine. This improves your posture, helps prevent future injuries and strengthens your core. The following exercises are recommended by Michelle Dozois, owner of Breakthru Fitness in Pasadena, California. You need to do them three times a week and remember to keep your abs tight through each move.

1. Plank with Shoulder Clock
Get into a push-up position after wrapping a resistance band around both of your hands. Your right arm should reach forward, then to the side and then back toward your right thigh while lowering to center each time. You should do complete series of these exercises twice per each side, 3 sets in total. If effort is not enough you can use small dumbells.

2. Reverse Lunge with Press
Grab a dumbbell in each hand and stand while holding them at shoulder height, palms forward. Step back with the right lef, then lift the right knee toward your chest. In the mean time press the weights over your head. As you back in the original positions lower the weights. Do 15 reps an then switch the leg.

3. One-Arm Dumbbell Chest Press
Lie down! Face should be up with your shouldres and head on a stable bench or medicine ball. Knees should be bent and feet must be on the floor. Take a dumbbell in your hand and hold it above your shoulder with the palm facing forward. Now bend your elbow and lower the weight out to side until your elbow is bent around 90 degrees. Now press the weight back to the starting position. Do 15 reps with your right hand and then switch hands.

Good Carbs and Bad Carbs - What's the big deal?

We can see the term "carbs" everywhere nowadays and most diets out there are focusing on an approach that is either for or against carbs. The result is general confusion as nobody really knows what they are dealing with and we tend to not understand what kind of diet works best for us. The truth is very simple and you just need to understand some basic facts about carbs in order to start losing weight.

Carbs are simply carbohydrates. This means that they are a type of calorie that contain extra energy. When you eat foods that are rich in carbohydrates you will see that you are more energetic. Eat all You Want and Still Lose Weight

Sounds great right? Well, it can be possible but you have to make some sacrifices for that. Until the age of 20, your body is very energetic and so it burns a lot faster the fat your body takes in with those Big Macs. After that, it gets slower and slower and without any effort from your side, although you eat the same or even less, you have all the chances to gain weight.

I know you look at those young women that can eat everything and still look like models and think that something is fishy. Well some of them are bulimic – the disorder that makes them throw-up after eating. This is not an option because this degrades your body in the long run and eventually makes your body weak and in danger of getting immunity degrading diseases. I’m sure you realize it’s not worth it!

If you want to keep eating all you want and crave for, you have to help your body with exercise. Everything has to be calculated when you decide to follow this program. You must figure out how much calories you eat and then get rid of them with exercises that actually burn those calories and will not just get you tired. Remember: it’s not about wearing you out, but burning as many calories as possible. The key is nutrition combined with exercise!

For example, a Big Mac has about 480 calories and you can burn them in 1 hour and a half by walking for two hours. When you come to think of it, it’s not that simple but I told you – you have to pay the price of losing weight and still eating all you want. Try doing sports you like so that it doesn’t feel like a burden or a chore. If you get bored at the gym, you can go for a jog in the park before going to work.

You have to feel ok with your program either way: if you eat all you want but need to exercise as much or even more, or you cut down that junk food and do less exercise – that is if you can’t or don’t like to stretch.

Loosing weight is not really a small battle to take on but you have to think about what you want more: to eat and stay on your couch and looking or look and feel great while saying goodbye to that couch potato life. You can eat all you want and still lose weight but you are the only person that can start the fight and keep on fighting for the body you are looking for. Pay attention to every little detail you can while not neglecting overall body health and you are on your way to lose wait through nutrition and exercise.

You go to the gym every day because of two common reasons in most cases: either you really want to lose weight or you want to keep your achieved weight the same. Either ways, it is a process of “I need to” and not “I like to”. And what is really to like? Sweating? Exhausting yourself indoors like a caged rodent? Well no, but its results are greater than that discomfort and by the end of your program you can look in the mirror and think that you’ve achieved something more by getting in shape and being healthy.

It’s quite hard to get in that great shape you want but in the end it’s worth it. All sorts of fitness gyms try to make your workout as fun and pleasant as possible – I’m sure you like the active music that pumps you up and gives you the energy to keep on stretching. If you do not like it you can always go for an MP3 player to enhance your workout environment.

You also get a personal trainer in these gyms, so you are provided with the feeling that you are cared for and given a personalized program according to your needs and of course what you really want to achieve by doing fitness – lose weight or keep in shape.

Sometimes that little devil on your shoulder (laziness) won’t let you go to the gym and will always give you some apparently good reasons to stay home or go out for a drink instead. I know that, because I was that devil’s victim myself, but what you have to realize is your target: you want to look and feel great and going out for that drink won’t do it for you!

When I feel that laziness I try to motivate myself to go do my workout by looking in the mirror and after I see my flaws (there is no woman that doesn’t see at least one, ever), I think that by going I can diminish them a bit. That really gets me going!

If that doesn’t work for you, try telling your friend or partner to tell you to go. More people take in consideration what others think of them, than what they need to do. So when your boyfriend will remind you what you planned to look like in a month and by not going to the gym you spoil everything, I’m sure you’ll feel that fitness motivation you are looking for!

Another way to get fitness motivation is to leave yourself a message in the evening for the next morning with two reasons why you should skip your workout. You tend to get lazier in the morning and make more plans in the evening.

Changing Eating Habits to Lose Weight
