Good Carbs and Bad Carbs - What's the big deal?

We can see the term "carbs" everywhere nowadays and most diets out there are focusing on an approach that is either for or against carbs. The result is general confusion as nobody really knows what they are dealing with and we tend to not understand what kind of diet works best for us. The truth is very simple and you just need to understand some basic facts about carbs in order to start losing weight.

Carbs are simply carbohydrates. This means that they are a type of calorie that contain extra energy. When you eat foods that are rich in carbohydrates you will see that you are more energetic. You surely felt that when you ate candy or cake. It happens because they are filled with carbs. Now the problem is that not all carbohydrates are going to get you fat. We have that talk about good carbs and bad carbs. The only situation in which it does not really count is when you are overweight as this usually means that over 90% of what you eat has too many bad carbs and not enough good carbs. So, when you think about different topics like if a certain food is helpful in losing weigh (IE Sandwhiches) you need to take a look at the entire picture. For instance, sugar is one of the most utilized bad carbs out there and a lot of individuals think that they avoid sugar when in fact they do not. Sugar comes in many variations and you will not be able to lose weight unless you learn how to avoid bad carbs and only take in good carbs.

Linked with the topic of sugar, a lot of people believe that honey is better than sugar when in fact it will make you just as fat. Honey contains the same bad carbs as sugar and will make your blood sugar level rise a lot after you eat. You thus end up gaining weight as when the body has high blood sugar levels it produces more insulin. This then leads to an increase of fat storage capacity. If you only eat good carbs you will see that blood sugar level will not grow like that and you can thus lose weight a lot easier. Even if you are a natural bodybuilder there are no differences in good or bad carbs and you need to be aware of that. Eating in natural bodybuilding should be the same as regular bodybuilding.
